When two themes turn into one. Hex is a visual publication that aims to connect two different subjects through the color hex code. Glass and Butts were the selected subjects. In collaboration w/ Margarida Coelho.
The briefing was to create a publication able to relate two distinct subjects (Glass and Butts) in a logical and balanced way. It was decided to link the thematics using color and create a colorful visual layout with images as the main content.
Glass is a very aesthetically pleasing material with a reflective surface that can have impressive results when photographed and is commonly utilized in design objects
and artistic installations. Therefore, it was researched and collected a series of artworks and photographs that explored the glass potential.
The “butts” thematic was equally researched in anaesthetic and artistic direction, collecting images of artists or photographers that work with the human body.
The final result is a publication that resembles a color catalogue, where each page is numbered with a specific color hex code presenting photographs of butts and glass matched chromatically. It can be read in multiple ways and even rearranged as it’s bound with rings. The index is an outside acrylic strap that involves the magazine.
